Nicola is an experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist with advanced skills in diagnosing and treating complex joint, muscle, and tendon conditions. Originally from Tauranga, New Zealand, she has recently relocated to Edinburgh to bring her expertise to patients across Scotland.
Nicola holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy) from AUT University and has spent the past five years working in one of New Zealand’s leading sports and musculoskeletal clinics. Her experience spans a wide spectrum—from everyday aches and pains to high-performance sport—giving her a sharp eye for accurate diagnosis and a highly structured approach to rehabilitation.
With extensive involvement in elite rugby environments, including the Chiefs Under-20 Super Rugby programme and the Bay of Plenty Rugby Academy, Nicola has developed exceptional skills in movement analysis, load management, manual therapy, and return-to-sport planning. She now brings that same level of detail and care to every patient she sees, whether they are dealing with a long-standing back issue, a recent sprain, or simply wanting to move more confidently.
Nicola has a particular clinical interest in ankle and knee injuries, including ligament sprains, patellofemoral pain, tendon problems, and post-operative rehabilitation. She enjoys uncovering the root cause of injuries—often addressing mobility, strength imbalances, biomechanics, or training habits—to help patients achieve lasting improvement rather than short-term relief.
What patients appreciate most is Nicola’s collaborative and reassuring style. She works closely with each individual to build a clear plan, restore confidence, and get them performing at a level better than before their injury.
Outside the clinic, Nicola is passionate about netball, tennis, and running, and is excited to explore Scotland’s outdoors, trails, and active lifestyle.
