Katie graduated with distinction from Robert Gordon University in 2022 with an MSc in Physiotherapy. Since then, she has worked part-time within the NHS across a range of multidisciplinary teams, developing strong clinical expertise and a broad, adaptable skill set. Her roles have demanded a high level of autonomy, critical thinking, and excellent communication—qualities she consistently demonstrates in her patient care.

In addition to her NHS work, Katie brings the focus, discipline, and resilience of a high-performance athlete to her clinical practice. She has represented both Scotland and Great Britain in international ski racing since 2010 and, for the past five years, has served as an able-bodied guide for a visually impaired athlete on the Paralympic Ski Team.

Her experience in elite sport has given her unique insight into injury management and recovery, fuelling her passion for delivering holistic, patient-centred care. Katie is committed to supporting patients through every stage of rehabilitation, using evidence-based practice to optimise outcomes. She is currently working toward her Pilates qualification to further enhance her ability to prevent injury and improve functional recovery in both athletic and general populations.

Katie also provides pitch-side physiotherapy cover for rugby matches, where she applies her clinical decision-making skills in high-pressure environments. This role has further strengthened her ability to assess, manage, and treat acute musculoskeletal injuries in real time. She also draws on her sports massage diploma to support soft tissue recovery and improve overall physical function.

Despite missing the 2022 Beijing Paralympic Games due to a positive COVID test, Katie and her athlete have since qualified for the 2026 Winter Games in Milan/Cortina—a testament to her perseverance and elite-level professionalism.

Away from work and competition, Katie enjoys exploring the Scottish Highlands and is gradually completing all of Scotland’s Munros, combining her love for the outdoors with an active and balanced lifestyle.
