Men’s Health

MENS HEALTH SERVICES
Men’s pelvic health refers to the well-being of the muscles, organs, and structures in the pelvic region, including the bladder, bowel, prostate, and reproductive organs. Proper functioning of these areas can be affected by age, injury, or medical conditions. The four most common conditions treated at our clinics are:

  • Erectile Dysfunction (ED)
  • Peyronie’s Disease
  • Chronic Prostatitis/Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome (CP/CPPS)
  • Incontinence

Treatment

There are two important aspects to improving these conditions, pelvic floor strength and shockwave therapy. Your Men’s Health Specialist will explain these to you and guide you through the treatment.

Pelvic floor training for men involves exercises designed to strengthen and improve the function of the pelvic floor muscles. These muscles support the bladder, bowel, and, in men, the prostate and sexual organs. Strengthening the pelvic floor can help manage, improve or prevent issues such as urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and pelvic pain.
The Physiotherapy Clinics are one of the leading providers of Shockwave Therapy (also know as Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy) for Erectile Dysfunction in the UK. Only the very latest Focused Shockwave Therapy technology from Storz Medical Switzerland, is used which has an excellent record for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and other men’s pelvic health conditions. Treatment is painless and safe, and administered by one of our Men’s Health Specialist.

The benefits of Shockwave Therapy are as follows:
    • Erectile Dysfunction (ED): Improves blood flow to the penis, enhancing erectile function in men with vascular-related ED.
    • Peyronie’s Disease: Treats curvature of the penis caused by fibrous tissue buildup, potentially reducing pain and improving function.
    • Chronic Prostatitis/Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome (CP/CPPS): Helps relieve pelvic pain and inflammation in men suffering from prostatitis or chronic pelvic pain.
